ABOUT OSAZE AKIL
Osaze Akil Stigler is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist and experiential designer passionate about transforming spaces into memorable moments. His artwork explores Black autonomy of self, space, and divinity, reimagining Black subjects through regal depictions of power, comfort, and exaltation. Blending historic motifs with Afrofuturistic thought, Osaze crafts immersive narratives that honor both the past and the possibilities of the future. His art has been featured in Vogue Arabia, Blavity, and Beyoncé’s Black Parade Route, exhibited in New York City and Los Angeles, and collected by institutions such as the Orange County Museum of Art.
In addition to his fine art practice, Osaze’s background in urban planning and landscape architecture informs his fascination with “constructed space”—the power and potential of designing environments that center joy, identity, and community. This foundation has fueled his work as an experiential designer, where he brings stories to life through brand activations and site-specific installations. Whether creating art or creating spatial experiences, his work seamlessly moves across mediums and platforms, celebrating beauty, fashion, history, culture and the significance of identity. Osaze’s practice transforms spaces into sites of meaning and celebration, honoring the sacredness of storytelling and self-expression.
